Kinga Garstka

Hi, I’m Kinga Garstka and I’m a PhD student in the inorganic biological chemistry team. Now I’m currently in the first year of my studies and the aim of my work is to understand the interactions of Zn(II) and Ni(II) with Aspf2, a zincophore from Aspergillus fumigatus, one of the most common causes of serious fungal lung infections in humans. The next step of my research will be focusing on the transporter ZrfC present also in this pathogen. I do my research work as part of the NCN Maestro project: "Metallophores - Understanding the transport of metals in pathogens to help the host deceive the invaders". I really like conduct experiments and discover new things. I’m also interested in natural body care and photography.
