Scientific interests
Bioinorganic and medicinal chemistry, including e.g. metal ion homeostasis in H. pylori, bahaviour of poly-His tag motif domains in metal binding proteins, interaction of metal cations with e.g. phytochelatins and other biologically relevant ligands. Currently- understanding relationship between the metal-antimicrobial peptide complex structure, stability, mode of action and efficacy, important in the design of novel, more potent AMP-based therapeutics.
